American Dream
This is a special post not only because I ordinarily do not blog on Sundays but also because today is Father’s Day. This post also has some pictures which is an anomaly in my blog. I urge you domainers especially those of us that are very active in domaining and at work to take the time sometime during the week to read this post. There is a message there for everyone. How will this post affect your domaining empire? I will say immensely because life has always been a matter of balance and to me the most successful domainers or individual is someone who has found a way to balance work and life. In the end your most priceless domain is the one you lay your head in, not the physical structure but the people around you that make up what we have come to call family. My daughter turned eight months old yesterday so the first set of pics where at the beach yesterday while the other set of pics are from today after church service.
Happy father’s day to all the current and future father’s out there, a quick shout out to my friend “Mike” (ocDomainer) I know you are having a swell time with Sam.
For this post I am borrowing the lyrics of a song by Casting Crowns called “American Dream ” available at Amazon. Click here to listen to a sample of the song ( Please note, this is NOT an affiliate link)
“American Dream”
All work no play may have made Jack a dull boy
But all work no God has left Jack with a lost soul
But he’s moving on full steam
He’s chasing the American dream
And he’s gonna give his family finer things
“Not this time son I’ve no time to waste
Maybe tomorrow we’ll have time to play”
And then he slips into his new BMW
And drives farther and farther and farther away
Cause he works all day and tries to sleep at night
He says things will get better;
Better in time
[Chorus]
So he works and he builds with his own two hands
And he pours all he has in a castle made with sand
But the wind and the rain are comin’ crashing in
Time will tell just how long his kingdom stands
His kingdom stands
Well his American Dream is beginning to seem
More and more like a nightmare
With every passing day
“Daddy, can you come to my game?”
“Oh Baby, please don’t work late.”
Another wasted weekend
And they are slipping away
‘Cause he works all day and lies awake at night
He tells them things are getting better
Just take a little more time
[Chorus]
So he works and he builds with his own two hands
And he pours all he has in a castle made with sand
But the wind and the rain are comin’ crashing in
Time will tell just how long his kingdom stands
His kingdom stands
He used to say, “Whoever dies with the most toys wins”
But if he loses his soul, what has he gained in the end
I’ll take a shack on the rock
Over a castle in the sand
Now he works all day and cries alone at night
It’s not getting any better
Looks like he’s running out of time
[Chorus]
‘Cause he worked and he built with his own two hands
And he poured all he had in a castle made with sand
But the wind and the rain are coming crashing in
Time will tell just how long his kingdom stands
His kingdom stands
All they really wanted was you
All they really wanted was you
All they really wanted was you

Happy Father’s Day! You have a beautiful daughter – thanks for sharing the pics.
Thanks Jeff,
Happy father’s day to you too
What a good looking family! Hope you have a great day with them today.
BTW… you aren’t really showing off your daughter in picture #1 – you’re showing off them guns!
I agree! Beautiful family! What a blessing. Myself, I have one graduating from college in Dec., one going to college in the fall, and MY baby will be in 10th grade! They grow up fast.
